Lampung's economy in the first quarter of 2011 grew 6.38 percent

Abstract

Lampung's Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) in the first quarter of 2011 grew 9.39 percent compared to the previous quarter (q-to-q). Five sectors experienced positive growth, where the Agriculture sector experienced the largest growth reaching 27.29 percent.

When compared with the same quarter in 2010 (y on y) Lampung's GRDP grew by 6.38 percent. All sectors grew positively and the highest growth was in the Electricity/Gas/Water sector which grew 17.47 percent, followed by Transportation/Communication at 14.65 percent.

Cumulatively (c to c) Lampung's economic growth up to the first quarter of 2011 is the same as "year on year" growth.

The size of Lampung's GRDP based on current prices in the first quarter of 2011 was Rp. 30,626 billion, an increase compared to the previous quarter (Rp. 27,031 billion).

From the expenditure side, GDP growth in Quarter I-2011 (y to y) was mainly due to increases in Net Exports, Household Consumption and PMTB.

Sumatra's economic growth in the first quarter of 2011 was recorded at 0.99 percent and on a "y-on-y" basis it was 5.85 percent.
