The total export value of Lampung Province in May 2013 reached US$293.1 million or an increase of US$2.77 million (0.95%) compared to April 2013 exports which were recorded at US$290.3 million. Exports in May 2013, compared with May 2012, rose US$37.1 million (14.49%) from US$255.99 million.
The five main categories of goods as of May 2013 are animal/vegetable fats & oils; coffee, tea, spices; preparations from fruit/vegetables; cocoa/chocolate; and wood pulp/pulp. The increase in exports occurred in 4 main categories of goods, while 1 main category of goods fell, namely wood pulp/pulp. Cocoa/chocolate experienced an increase in exports of around 107.68% or US$6.86 million, processed fruit/vegetables 23.96% (US$2.56 million), coffee, tea, spices 19.95% (US $9.18 million) and animal/vegetable fats & oils 17.07% (US$16.45 million).
The largest contribution to export value for the period January - May 2013 occurred in animal/vegetable fats and oils; coffee, tea, and spices; wood pulp/pulp; Processed fruits/vegetables and cocoa/chocolate, each contributing 39.54%; 17.12%; 4.61%; 3.67% and 1.65% of total exports January - May 2013 Lampung Province. The role of these five groups reached 66.59% of total exports in the same period.
The main export destination country in May 2013 was Italy which reached US$ 24.65 million, followed by India, the Netherlands, Malaysia and the United States respectively US$ 24.05 million, US$ 23.05 million, US$ 22.84 million and US $20.73 million. The role of the five reached 39.35% of total exports in May 2013.
