Abstract

Lampung Province's NTP in May 2011 for each subsector was recorded at 129.70 for the Rice & Secondary Crops Subsector (NTP-P), 109.80 for the Horticulture Subsector (NTP-H), 122.65 for the People's Plantation Crops Subsector (NTP-Pr ), 107.02 for the Livestock Subsector (NTP-Pt) and 113.74 for the Fisheries Subsector (NTP-Pi). Meanwhile, the Provincial/Combined NTP was recorded at 121.49.

The increase in prices in the sub-sector of smallholder plantation crops, such as the price of coffee and pepper, as well as the increase in prices in the sub-sector of food crops, such as dry milled grain, made Lampung's NTP increase 1.88 percent compared to the previous month.

If the NTP per sub-sector in May 2011 is compared with April 2011, it can be seen that all NTP sub-sectors have increased, the food crops sub-sector rose 1.89 percent, the horticultural crops sub-sector rose 1.54 percent, the smallholder plantation crops sub-sector rose 2.98 percent. percent, the livestock sector rose 0.82 percent, and the fisheries sub-sector rose 1.15 percent.

Of the 32 provinces, 20 provinces experienced an increase in NTP and 12 provinces experienced a decrease in NTP. The highest increase in NTP occurred in Lampung Province, namely 1.88 percent, this was because the price paid by farmers fell by 0.58 percent while the price received by farmers rose by 1.29 percent. Meanwhile, the largest decline in NTP occurred in East Kalimantan Province, which fell by 0.91 percent, due to an increase in prices paid by farmers of 0.58 percent while the prices received by farmers actually fell by 0.34 percent.

In May 2011, deflation occurred in rural areas in Lampung Province of 0.76 percent. Deflation in rural areas was mainly caused by the decline in the price index for the foodstuffs group. The decline in the index also occurred in the prepared food and education, recreation and sports groups, while other groups experienced an increase in the index.
