The Head of the Mesuji Regency Statistics Agency (BPS) participated in the Grand Harvest event with the Regent of Mesuji, Hj. Elfianah, S.E., on 1,058 hectares of land using the Cibatu rice variety.

In her remarks, Regent Elfianah explained that currently, farmers' harvest yields are only 5.8 tons/ha. However, going forward, the Mesuji Regency Government is targeting an increase to 10 tons/ha to improve farmer welfare.

As a concrete step, a demonstration plot trial of the brackish water-tolerant biosalin rice variety is currently underway. If successful, farmers are expected to be able to plant rice up to three times a year.
