In order to control regional inflation, on Thursday, January 11 2024, BPS Mesuji Regency attended the regular meeting of the Mesuji Regency Regional Inflation Control Team (TPID). This meeting started at 8 with participants, the Regional Secretary of Lampung Province, Forkopimda Mesuji Regency, BPS Mesuji Regency, as well as all OPDs involved in controlling inflation in Mesuji Regency. The meeting was opened by the Regional Secretary of Lampung Province, Ir. Fahrizal Darminto, M.A. and conveyed that regarding Mesuji Regency, starting February 1 2024, there will be inflation figures which will be released by BPS Mesuji Regency, therefore the Price Change Index figures released every week will no longer come out.
Then the meeting continued with a presentation by the head of BPS Mesuji Regency Zulkifli, S.ST., M.M. who said that the inflation figures which will be released on February 1 are the output of a long series that has been carried out starting from 2022 through the 2022 Cost of Living Survey to obtain commodity packages and weighing charts for calculating inflation figures. 1,600 households in four quarters have had their expenditure monitored through This survey will then be continued in 2023 through a Consumer Price Survey which is carried out regularly to monitor weekly prices for existing commodity packages.
Zulkifli also revealed that Mesuji Regency should be grateful because it has its own inflation figures, because in Lampung Province there are only two inflation districts, namely Mesuji Regency and East Lampung Regency, so that regional government policies regarding price control can be carried out better.
